Tales at the Tea Table

On Virtuous Cycles

The Amazon flywheel spins round and round, ever faster. As drawn in back-of-napkin fashion by Bezos himself, increasing the selection of offerings increases customers and presumably transactions, which then attracts additional suppliers who in good old capitalist fashion will simultaneously expand selection and compete on price. Meanwhile, all this growth leads to operating leverage that drives down costs for consumers, leading to more consumers. And of course, you bet AMZN is mining all your data to curate an experience that keeps you coming back. Sticky like a tootsie roll.

My diagram is a bit more verbose than Bezos's... still works though.

Goji berries, also known as wolf berries, have less hype than they once did but remain a superfood all the same. After fertilizing with used tea leaves, marvel at how plump and vibrant this year's harvest is! Virtuous cycles abound :)
